Chef Ramsay: “Outlaw Out of Season Veggies!”

According to a report, perennial media whore, Chef Gordon Ramsay, said last week that he wants Britain to punish restaurateurs that serve anachronistic vegetables:

“I don’t want to see asparagus in the middle of December. I don’t want to see strawberries from Kenya in the middle of March. I want to see it home-grown… Fruit and veg should be seasonal. Chefs should be fined if they don’t have ingredients in season on their menu.”

The Hell’s Kitchen Chef (as usual) has more to say:

“There should be stringent laws, licensing laws, to make sure produce is only used in season and season only.”

If I’m not mistaken, Chef Ramsay’s reality show is filmed during the winter/early spring. You better believe me when I say I’ll be watching the veggies on those plates from now on!

    I had exactly the same thought about taking careful note of the vegetables in Hell’s Kitchen from now on.

    I love Gordon Ramsay to death, but he’s so omnipresent these days that even I’m getting sick of him.
